insect collecting in Catalina island

Hello everyone, I am going to Catalina island in Sothern California.

I heard many insects were there, and I am planning for collection.

But I don't know if it is allowed to catch insects there. 

How do I know if I am able to catch or not?

 
I'm pretty sure that Catalina Island is totally off limits to collecting.  About 90 percent of the island is a natural preserve owned by the Catalina Island Conservancy, established in the early 1970s.  I've heard that you aren't even allowed to pick up rocks.

I think that's correct, all you need to do is look it up, if it's a nature preserve, or National Park you can look, but not touch.
