ID needed weird beetle larvae

what is this ? found in WA looks like a diving beetle larvae but i found it under a rock... PS. RIP he died today.... these guys need high moisture

I might guess Pterostichus, but that would only be a guess. Some kind of carabidae larva, I think.

hi i know this is an old post but i just wanted to say that that is a rove beetle larva. i used to breed a species of rove beetle ( tasgius melanarius.) and its larva looked exactly like your larva. sorry it died.
