How to tell if ready for mating

Hi guys,

I was wondering if there are ways to tell whether or not beetles (P. muelleri to be specific) are ready to breed? I got them ~half a week after eclosion supposedly. The people who sold them to me said I should let them settle for a week or two and then they should be ready for mating, but most literature I find suggests around 3 months. I keep the male and female separate to prevent them from damaging eachother.

The two week point has since passed but I’m not sure what to do. They both feed of the jellies I put out for them at night so I don’t know how active they are during this time. Haven’t really seen them since I purchased them due to their burrowing.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

ps: if anyone knows of a good place to buy kinshi from that ships to the U.K. please let me know.

They take a bit to come out. 1-3 months after enclosing.

Kinshi could be found at Titan Monster Beetle Shop.

They will be wandering the enclosure looking for food. Sometimes they even start to try and fly.

So if they are above ground in general then? Because I saw the female briefly last night, and the jelly seems eaten from.

Na, they will usually be way active almost like their going mad. Wandering around the enclosure, trying to fly etc.
