Even with weighing you won't know the exact end weight, many factors such as substrate,temperature,and genetics play a role.

let me rephrase it, how big do you think a larva will be when it becomes an adult (without weighing the larva)?
For ex, if a lucanus elaphus larva is 7+ grams, they are usually majors.
So is there a way to know if they are going to be majors or minors without weighing the larva?
