I came to feed my female rainbow stag, and I found she is missing all her tarsi. it was depressing and I don't know what to do. She kept flipping over, and I'm worried. What should I do? And will I still be able to breed them?
You want to make sure that the substrate is moist, as they age they start losing parts. Depending on how many parts she lost, it may be difficult to dig down in the substrate or even flip over.
I will try breeding them before it is too late. She lost all of her tarsi. I didn't really take a close look at them for a couple days, and just noticed yesterday. Really hoping they can still breed.
Not to be hard on ya but if you planned to breed these beetles, items like substrate should have been ready and accessible by now. Especially since the female is older.
Females will not lay eggs in coco fiber just an FYI.
Bad news, I think she died. She is barely moving, and she is not eating I think. I got her in September, and I don't know where I went wrong. She is being taken care of exactly like the male. I will give it some more time, to make sure.
