I was wondering if any one has ever purchased anything from https://bugsofamerica.com/prices.html
and whether it’s safe or not.
and whether it’s safe or not.
Only the American Burying Beetle (Nicrophorus americanus) is classified as endangered.Pretty sure burying beetles are illegal to keep, although there is more that one species in the US, only one of which is protected.
YesI think they mean one of the other species as the endangered one would be very hard to obtain
Going to go against the apparent consensus and recommend them. They are much more active it seems in the museum networks, hence why they don’t mention permits as much. It is assumed that most institutions can easily get all of these species on their permits. Anyway, local museums source exhibit organisms through them.I was wondering if any one has ever purchased anything from https://bugsofamerica.com/prices.html

Cactus longhorns require permits, annoyingly enough. Honeypots will require permits as well.I contacted them on how they sell the honey pots. If honey pot ants are legal to ship I'll be picking some up. I'm thinking it's just within their state.
I know I'll probably be getting some cactus long horn beetles from them.
Yep! I volunteer for a science museum and they deal with bugsofamerica.com all the time. We were just talking about them the other day and the head entomologist highly recommends them. He knows the owner from conferences.Going to go against the apparent consensus and recommend them.
