grub found

today when we got home from lunch my wife found this grub in our doorway?

any clue?

cant wait to see what it is,nearly the size of my pinkie.

(i would assume capriolus?and will try some wood substrate when i get off of work to see if it feeds)

It's not a stag. It looks like Dynastinae but certainly a scarab. The only large Dynastinae in your area are Strategus and Zyloryctes and the head is too small for S. antaeus. I'll be interested in hearing what it turns out to be. Osmoderma should be common where you live but this angle at least doesn't seem to match.

 
then i will definitely keep it in the current setup,seems to be feeding and alot more active.

Do you have any other pictures of this larva?

It looks kind of foreign to me.

no other pics,came home to a black blob with just head left,must have caught it on its way out..

stinks...now i am gonna look for more in the same area.
