was just wondering if it is necessary to feed my adult DHH beetle jelly? Only a female has emerged so far, and seems to be doing great with banana, mango and maple syrup mixed with a little water. Do I really need anything else? Thanks!
Thanks! One more question.......my first female emerged about 2 weeks ago now. There are 3 more that I am expecting, none of which has surfaced yet. Should I be concerned? I thought that keeping males and females together would cause them to pupate at the same time? Shouldn't they emerge around the same time? Just hope that the others are okay and will eventually emerge.
They have been transforming for over a month.....the first one has emerged, but it has been two weeks and no sign of the others.....should I worry, or just be patient....lol
I hope so....as each day goes by, I cant help but wonder if something went wrong. The first one emerged almost 3 weeks ago......would they be that spaced apart???
A month or so before a male appears will not make any difference, adults can live for 5-6 months, longer if they are not busy with egg laying. When a male come up he will be raring to go, and your female will be well fed and ready to lay. Don't expect to see a mating, it can happen fairly fast, just house them together in a big tub and let them get on with it. If you have a couple of males rotate them round so you only have 1 male in the tank at a time.
