Flake Soil first time. Is this mold?

Hi there,

Complete newbie here. I made my first batch of flake soil a week ago using an experienced breeders recipe to the letter but i think ive been a bit unlucky and gotten some pink fuzz on top of one of my containers. Can i get some advice? Has any one else had this and knows what to do?

Most molds are good to start the process of breaking down the wood.

Little too dark and not clear image to tell, but if it is a white spiderweb-like thing, then it is okay as it is not a mold.
It is called hyphae, a normal thing that you see when fermentation starts off.

Well, mold actually breaks down the wood so you don't need to worry about it. Just shift ur substrate around a bit then you will be fine.
