Dynastes grantii and D. tityus localities?

I was wondering if anybody knew, or better yet had photos to compare, of differences in coloration or other morphological features between localities within the same species of Dynastes grantii or Dynastes tityus? Like perhaps one locality of Dynastes grantii is particularly white colored while another is especially grey. Anything like that. Curious to know everyone's thoughts, thanks!

That is interesting, but I don’t think there are any really defined localities. Tityus and Grantii are both part of the white Hercules lineage, which includes most North and Central American species minus D. tuxtluaensis. The Giant Hercules lineage occurs further south, and includes the D. hercules complex and D. neptunus, with D. satanas being part of its own lineage, if I recall correctly. The interesting part is that D. grantii and D. hyllus are extremely closely related, D. hyllus being a species that occurs throughout Mexico’s forests.

This topic got me curious because the Dynastes grantii on Richard's Inverts website are extra bright white with high contrasting black on the head and horns. I was wondering if this was a locality specific thing or more likely linebreeding or camera/computer editing effects. Granted, I have not seen a lot of Dynastes grantii myself, just that the photos I see online show specimens that are noticeably more greyish or brownish.

Here is what I mean:

I know Orin McMonigle selectively bred D. tityus to increase and intensify their yellow coloration, I would imagine the same could be done with D. grantii and there is variability amongst individuals both in captivity and in the wild.
