Yet another US native Pyrophorini species in my collection, and just like all the other US species in culture, @Lucanus is the proud collector, this stock comes from George West, TX. I only have CB larvae ATM, will be several months until I start getting adults, but I figured I'd share pics of them anyways, not a lot of people working with click beetles, let alone bioluminescent ones.

And here are some really grainy pics of one larva glowing defensively, they only do so when pretty spooked, and only glow just being their head capsules:

How are they doing for you?  Has care been notably different than the other Pyrophorini that you raise, or do you find them to all be pretty similar?

So far so good, they are growing well and some are quite large already! So far I've noticed no difference in terms of care compared to the other Pyrophorini I work with.

Cool, hope you can find some!  It's worth noting though their season in the wild is probably over by now, so you might not be able to catch any until next year.

Thanks man, I have a thing for bioluminescent inverts lol! Hoping to try breeding fireflies next year...

Well a pair of them matured a few months ago and have already started making lots of little babies. Here are some pics of one of my larger larvae (which I still have 14 of), and my adult pair.
