Darkling Beetle ID

Anybody know which of the many it could be? (If it is indeed a darkling)

Its not a darkling beetle, its a ground beetle. Looks like pterostichus.

That was my other guess. Are they all snail eaters?

No only a few eat snails, most will eat dog food or dead/alive insects.
