Nice photo! Where you find one, you can usually find many of these shells on the trunks and undersides of branches on trees. Do you hear the adults signing?

my area is full of these,and a constant chorus of them all summer.

my kids love finding them,we had two varieties we found often thus year,no idea which ones,but a smaller variety that were black and red and a large variety that was black and green
