Do these wood pellets work?

I searched up the traeger oak pellets and there like around 20 dollars a bag. And I am thinking of making a lot of beetle substrate at once.

So hickory pellets won't work? Crap, that's all my roommate has at the moment, and I need some fermented sawdust for some roaches I'm getting....

 
Actually, I just looked back and I used hickory wood previously when fermenting, and my click beetles have done OK in it, so it can't be all that bad...
