Beetle pupa horn is bent over

Hey all, I just had a beetle pupate the last couple days and it seems it's horn is bent over. Will this resolve or will I just have a lopsided beetle?

I'll see if I can get some pictures. It built it pupal cell against the edge of it's enclosure.

Depending on the species, it may straighten up forward once it emerges. If you are keeping anything like US species for Dynastes or Strategus, then NO. They will be like that even after the emergence. This occurs when the pupal cell is constructed too small for themselves, when pupal cell is broken down accidentally, etc. It is somewhat possible to fix that when it is only a DAY 1 or 2 since the pupate.

@JKim

It's a Dynastes species so I suppose he'll just be a little funny looking. If he's physically good other than his horn then we're good.

I may make some artificial pupal cells for the other ones about to pupate since they're in the same size/shape enclosure. I didn't think it was too small, but I guess maybe it pupating right up against the walls had something to do with it. The other one is yellowing/wrinkling the way they do right before pupating.

Here is a picture just for the heck of it, it's a little tricky to see, but you can see the horn is overlapped towards us.
