Bacterial infection?

Haven't been here in a while. I'm happy to report that I finally found a grape vine beetle! But I'm unhappy to report that he is growing more spots. They are black like the rest of his spots. I don't know if he's growing more spots or if it's an infection.

It's really hard to see, so I just circled them in white. I'm worried because just yesterday my niece just lost her green june bug and unknown shining chafer yesterday, when they were just fine the day before so, No spots on them. I don't want any beetle infection in my tank, all I own are beetles!

Thanks for any help!

With the circles, it is more difficult to tell if that spot is any different from elytra entirely... But if it is unusual location than where six spots are supposed to be, then yes, it is not good. But based on my experiences with collections, never really has much of noticeable issues, other than seriously injured, they all seem to live fine with couple holes or detachment. That's how insects are...

Especially light colored beetles get darker when injured (or holes punched like above).

I can't get any good pictures of the spots. I don't know what to do. I have him in a quarantine tank. I'll update any changes.

On the surface. It looks like his other 6 spots. Is diet causing him to change patterns? He seems to only like banana. He doesn't like grapes, and I can't find any grapevine leaves(unless I want to ask a nearby neighbor if I can have some. lol). Anything else they like to eat?

Well, he grew 2 more spots! They're very tiny and brown. You wonder if this is like what lady bugs and some other insects go through, developing spots/marking over time. but I need your opinion.  But he acts completely normal. I put him back in the big tank. After searching for pictures, I did notice some that the ones with more spots were on the southern species than they northern species, and the one I own is a southern. He is also an unusually small. Only a pinch bigger than a green june bug. Maybe he is ill by bad genetics.

It's  still driving me nuts trying to find out though. lol
