Arboreal beetles

Hi guys,

I recently got a 30x30x45 cm (12x12x18 inches?) terrarium. I want to make the most of the height/size of this thing so I was wondering if there's any arboreal Lucanidae (or something of a similar size) I could look into getting that I can breed? I've added a picture of the way I had it set up with a rainbow stag in there somewhere but he has since moved house. Let me know if you have any species in mind!

Probably almost any type of flower beetle would look good in that enclosure for show. For breeding, you will need way more substrate. That enclosure is more for looks and will not do much for egg laying purposes.

Yes I'm aware, my thinking was to keep a male in there after he's done his breeding duties. How would that work with flower beetles, and did you have any particular ones in mind?

Yea, that would look great but I think the male may burrow as opposed to always being out in the open.

I'd say some Mecynorrhina species would look nice.
