It would appear that alder works good (and is fully capable of producing major males) for Odontolabis species. Read this article by Phil Kahler, it's an excerpt from Invertebrates Magazine (which if you don't already have a subscription GET ONE!). If it works for Odontolabis, it's quite likely it'll work for other species as well. The only way to know which species will take to it is to experiment!
