10 gal tank ideas

BensBeasts1

Cerambycidae
I just bought a new 10 gal tank.

Here was my ideas:

Forest communal tank: lots of plants, wood , leaves, forest darklings, pond, frog, millipedes, roaches, spiders, and others.

Desert communal tank: Darklings, millipedes, velvet ants?, succulents, and other beetles.

Tropical communal tank: Tropical beetles, plants, and others.

Aquatic communal tank: Aquatic Insects, snails, tannin water, plants,  large animal?, shrimp, fish, crabs.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions. But what ever set up I chose there will be a main animal.

(No scorpions, Tarantulas, or whip scorpions)

All though I love those 3 that I listed. Sadly the people I live with don’t agree. They think it will kill them with its venom or escape, even if I lock it. When I try to educate them about these 3 they just ignore me. No matter what. So until I get my own place I just watch T. videos.😭😭😭😭😭😭

Well the first idea sounds cool, but it might be a little too ambitious for a 10 gallon. I personally think a desert darkling vivarium would look really neat. Good luck!

What about whipspiders (amblypygi)? Or is that what you meant with whipscorpions (vinegaroons)? They are harmless to humans.

The desert communal tank would probably be the easiest to achieve, though doing it with millipedes might be tricky due to their moisture requirements.

An aquatic communal would be relatively easy to do with snails, maybe shrimp, water striders, diving beetles, etc. Toe-biters/Odonata nymphs/crawdads would probably eat everything, so best to avoid them. You could even do a Geosesarma paludarium.

The forest communal tank could probably be done if you drop the frog. The tropical setup could also be done similarly with millipedes, roaches, maybe some beetles, etc.

Thanks,

Yeah I ment both whipspiders and whip scorpions. 😥 Sadly as I said the people in my home, think they will kill them. No matter what I say.

Yeah, I don’t think that I will be putting a frog in the forest tank, since I already have 1.

I don’t think I will do a tropical communal tank because I kind of already have one.

So either desert, aquatic, forest, or any suggestions from you guys.

If you go aquatic, you could look into least killifish.  They're livebearers that grow to about an inch, and they are incredibly hardy.

For the desert, you could try to find a Jerusalem cricket, although I haven't seen anyone selling them for a while.  There are also some dung beetles that live in deserts, which would be cool.

Problem with Jerusalem crickets is they like it pretty humid though, even though they're found in deserts they spend most of their time underground where it's humid, so wouldn't really be a desert tank, (or at least, the JC would be very short lived in one...)

Wow! Your people are impulsive and stupid! Won't even let you keep a tiny arachnid! And they will kill it if you get one? Wow! I hate people like those. Start working and get a place of your own. Be free of those people.
