    Dynastes neptunus 3D puzzle model

This just arrived from Japan today. They have the coolest toys! It was alot of fun putting together and looks great. It's about 4.5 inches long. I'm probably gonna buy the Dynastes granti model this company makes next. EDIT: I'm a doofus. Here's the photo...

Requesting Dynastes tityus various lifestage photos

Hey guys, So at my work, I'm going to set up a display talking all about Dynastes tityus. I'm looking for photos of the various life stages to use, especially photos showing early and late instars of the larvae. Of course, pupae and eclosing critters would be nice too! The more natural...

    Stenomorpha sp.

So, if you've seen the Beetle Photos thread, you would see that a friend of mine in AZ found some Stenomorpha sp. He is interested in breeding them, and the only paper we can manage to find is one from the 60s or 70s about a species that, to my knowledge, isn't recognized anymore. The paper...

    Darkling ID Needed

My buddy found this in Arizona. I initially thought it was Eleodes, but I'm being told it doesn't emit an odor like they're known for. Also, what's the rearing protocol? He happened to find a male and female.

Observations on feeding rotting apple to D. tityus larvae

So, a few weeks ago, I was grocery shopping, and found an apple with a really really soft rotten spot on it. I figured I'd buy it and feed the spot to my Dynastes tityus larvae. So I cut it off the apple and dug it under the substrate. A few weeks later, it seems the apple skin was all that...

    Dynastes tityus larvae feeding?

So I hatched 3 larvae, and I suspect they are feeding. After all, they are still alive, and the ends of their abdomens are slightly blackish blue. The substrate consists of some coco fiber, crushed up oak, and crushed up oak and beech leaves, the last 2 consisting of most of the substrate...

    Greetings citizens!

Hi there. My name is Scott. I've always been into invertebrates, and have been impressed by beetles, but I got absolutely hooked after finding a female Dynastes tityus. At first, she laid 8 eggs, but during my first attempt at a rearing container, I broke ALL the eggs. I was devastated...
