    Dynastes hylus.

I have two pairs of Hylus housed in a 35L breeding container. There seems to be a hell of alot of intimacy going on so I hope this will lead to eggs. I already bred these and have quite a few larvae that are now fast approaching L3. I house the larvae communally, with 5 or 6 in a 9L container...

IMO that pupa is of the xylotrupes family. The more i look at it the more im sure. They too have the habit of pupating on the surface, I have several in this state at the moment. I buy flourists foam, soak it in warm water and shape a cell from it using a spoon. The cell should be slightly...

Well, here is the first of my M Harrisi to emerge. She needs a little time to mature but I reckon she's going to be a very nice adult. Here's the question ; I housed them all (10) communally and didn't have a single case of cannibalism. Would anyone like to explain this. I wrote about this on...

    Mecynorhina ugandensis.....

I've bred a few gens of these now. great beetles. This is the latest pile of eggs , the female was from Taiwan and was meant to be a blue strain, but as you can see she hatched orange! But i've put her to one of my males anyway. Be interesting to see what colour the progeny will be.
