I read that dobsonfly larvae are cannibalistic, and some beetle larvae are too. Is there any other way to prevent any cannibalistic action, besides feeding them well? They usually eat algae off the sides of my aquarium, so....

I know this is not Eleodes (definitely, lol), but can anyone identify it?

If brother and sister beetles breed, will their larvae have a higher chance of deformities, or are they different from us? Over long terms, will they produce less larvae, (or more unhealthy ones)? Is this usually not a problem?

Hey, guys, I have had this Alaus melonops for about three months now (prob fem.) and at one point, one of its antenna was "injured"or shortened. Does anybody know of any causes to this? I have also kept a male shield backed katydid for three months, and one of its antenna (originally two in)...

Bess beetles are ground beetles, and have fused wings. If they do not need to fly, why were they created with wings underneath the hard elytra?

This is my fem. Eleodes hispilabris. I also have a male, but they have not mated. I have fed them meat ,fruit, and even some leaves... why are they not breeding?

These are the Prionus laticollis fem's eggs a few hrs after being laid. Does anyone know why the color changes, (from near pure white to a somewhat deep yellow). This yellow coloration, however, only lasts for 1-2 days, (might be some variation among diff. eggs)
