Well looks like I am going to have to keep up my hobby the hard way. After 3 years of having easy access to to all things beetles I moving back to the U.S.

I have a DHH male and female in the same box. The female has made a pupa cell in the bottom of the case. I have a mite problem and can see several crawling around the pupa and I also worry about the male messing up her cell. Should I move her to a artificial cell?

I just checked for eggs after my first try in breeding cyclommatus metallifer finae. I found 18 eggs, man those suckers are tiny! I was worried because the female hardly moved at all when I got her then she went straight under the substrate when I put her in with the male and I have not seen her...

Picked up this guy and a female. They are local from near my house, the beetle shop I went to was in the middle of no where and I am pretty sure I was the first American in their shop:). I now need to study up on hibernation and breeding them.

I have never been into taking pictures and know very little about cameras. That being said I find myself wanting to take pictures of some of my beetles. Can anyone recommend a camera that is good for macro, but not super expensive ?
