Cotinis mutabilis finally emerged

being my first grubs i received since being bitten by the beetle addiction,i actually didnt expect these to mature...was very surprised and happy to find some nice healthy beetles when i checked on them this week.

so far i have three,these two emerged perfect and one other emerged with extended wings and deformed elytra.

these are the first ones i have even seen in person,very impressive,and fly quite well...lol(learned the hard way)

i honestly have no clue,i have ten more i am waiting on though so hopefully i have similiar results with them,and end up with at least one pair?

Congratulation!!!

You can probably sex them by checking the dent in the underside of the belly.

Males have dents while females don't.

thanks,next time they are both out i will have to take a look.

they tend to either be feeding or buried right now
