Lethargic L.elaphus

So earlier this week I brought my 3 males out of hibernation and put them in their new temporary enclosures.

My larger male was placed in a large critter keeper, and the others were placed in smaller containers. My large male has become very lethargic over the past few days, he seems to be barely hanging on but perked right up and displayed characteristic male stag behavior when I dripped a bit of brown sugar water between his mandibles. I am getting beetle jelly tomorrow, but do you guys think I will lose him?

The other two are doing great despite my attention being on the large male.

When did it emerged? They need some time after the emergence. That might be the reason.

Try offering some food. An old trick would be to put some redbull on a peper towel and rub it on their mouthparts. That's not a joke either, it worked for me in the past!

That's awesome! I actually just got a bunch of beetle jellies from Bugsincyberspace so I think that did the trick! But I will certainly remember to try Redbull next time.
