Just got this 54mm Lucanus elaphus male in the mail today. Time to find a female! One of the hardest species I ever tried to breed, hopefully this time I have success.

What is the most difficult part about breeding them? I currently have a lot of larvae that came from a couple of wild caught females so that would be helpful.Just got this 54mm Lucanus elaphus male in the mail today. Time to find a female! Getting them to breed in captivity isn't always easy. Of course WC females will drop eggs. This is my third run with this species and I learned a lot of stuff by a guy who specializes in breeding them.

Aw man! I see you have larvae but by the time one matures I feel like my male will not be with us anymore.
