Mushrooms in Dhh substrate?

I was checking my beetles and I came across the larger Dhh's container and it had white spots that looked like mushrooms but I'm not sure.

It doesn't look like my L2 larva is bothered by it and it's really healthy though the gender is unknown at this point. I'll wait until it's a bit larger to check again.

Your larva will probably be fine, I would just remove as much as I could using a spoon.

Yeah it seems really happy in there and getting big. The two of them doubled in size and now L2s since I bought them in January as L1s. I'll try that and I need to get more substrate as well so as soon as I get more I'll give them some fresh dirt to dig in. I just haven't decided where to get it from since I like both the 100% hardwood from Bugsincyberspace and Titan Monster Beetle shop.

I would go with substrate from Titan Monster Beetle Shop, it's flake soil that has the potential to produce huge males.

Then I shall do that! I have one that I bought as a L1 is now nearly the size of my Dynastes tityus "Pacha" I'm hoping that I get males but a female will be nice as well so I can breed. As soon as they become larger I'll put them in a grow out tub with plenty of substrate.

I named my Dynastes tityus Pacha. Sorry I didn't clarify that that's his name. The larger of the two Dhh is named Kubo.

Yeah so I can tell them apart. So I have Pacha the Dynastes tityus. Kubo the larger Dhh and I haven't named the smaller one yet. I have a feeling they're going to be big.
