What Happens If Customs Seizes Your Shipment?

Does anyone know what happens if customs seizes your imported beetles? I was just wondering? Do you get a fee or do they just I N C I N E R A T E them?

(Im not going to illegally import beetles, Im filling out a permit)

 
I believe you get a notice/warning, and possibly fees , it depends on how many times youre caught and where you live. If they do seize it, yes its most likely incinerated.

 
Yes, it depends on the offense, who catches you and if you have been caught before.

Depending on the situation and types of beetles, they (USDA anyway) will sometimes offer them to a permit holding institution like a zoo instead of killing them.
