What do y'all do with your used substrate?

Since your can't re-use flake soil substrate over issues with fungus growth on pupae, what do you do with it once you have adult beetles? I think perhaps it could be used for millipedes or isopods, but idk if there are any other uses. If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them!

Once my flake soils and composts have been converted mostly to frass I will save a little to ad to new batches of substrate to inoculate them, whether I buy them or make them, kind of like a mother. It adds enzymes and microbes my beetles are used to so they adapt readily to new food sources. The rest makes excellent additives to houseplants or the garden compost. Just watch for fungus gnats when using it inside and make sure no eggs or larvae are in it when putting it outside.

Nice, thanks!
