Studying Ceruchus piceus

noticed little is known about them, I have larvae, a male pupa and 2 weird things that appear to be underdeveloped pupae. they seem to pupate in the rotting wood they live in.

As with other Lucanids, larvae feed on rotting wood. Known to be associated with rotting logs of beech, oak, and other trees
