And watered down maple syrup in a lid in the subsrate should help keep them alive

Hey yah Andrew

I feed my aleous maple syrup mixed with water on some shreaded tissue paper they love it!! and some of my females have lived a year eatting that.

I put it in a shallow cup and bury the cup level with the substrate.

here is a pic of one of my Strategus antaeus chowing down I change the cups twice a week.

hope that helps

Hi, the best are Banana or Lactic Acid.

Or you mix a proteine food (do it yourself).

The beetles are fed with a mixture of mashed banana, yogurt, honey and maple syrup (3 parts, 3 parts, 1part, 1part). The yoghurt is used as supply for proteins (advice from J.T.Lai). The beetles will hunt larvae if they lack proteins, even the males. I did recognize this first when I had an excess of males.
