sexing gideon larvae

I notice on around half of the larvae there is a V-shape with a faint white dot in the middle on some gideon (a little less prominant than dynastes), is this a reliable way to sex them?
or is this somehow something individual to each larva? (ill be selling them so I need to know definitively!)
