H hardshell Mecynorrhina Aug 16, 2012 #2 why do u guys take out pupae from its cell? what do i do when pupae cell collapse?
Oak Goliathus Aug 16, 2012 #3 you don't take out the pupa from it's cell...it's actually better to leave the pupa in his cell.
Lucanus Lucanus Aug 16, 2012 #4 I sometimes to that for the observation purposes or when the pupal cell breaks down.
R Ryan Minard Eudicella Aug 16, 2012 #5 I wouldn't suggest it when you have few of the specific species. I do it when I have tons of one species! The reason? observation... or If i think the pupal cell isn't very good...

Regiarbol Pupa Aug 16, 2012 #6 If the cell breaks, you can make an artificial one with floral foam. Just carve it out until it closely mimics how a pupal cell should look. Last edited by a moderator: Aug 16, 2012

R Ryan Minard Eudicella Aug 16, 2012 #7 I just use tissue... so far so good. VERY few deaths... and the only ones that did die were injured beforehand. . Now, maintaining moisture is more of a problem with tissue... I will admit.
