New to Beetles in Michigan

Hi! I'm brand new to this, and I actually have never kept a beetle before. I'd really like to buy some larvae to start out with, but supplies seem to be really limited, especially among the larger species. Nonetheless, I'll hopefully be able to find something I'd like to order soon, and then I can truly get started!

Hi, welcome! Check bugsincyberspace.com for larvae and adult beetles, if you haven't already looked there. Peter has Megasoma punctulatus larvae available and has recently had some Dynastes tityus, although it appears those are out of stock at the moment. He also has a good selection of adult beetles.

Thanks for the site! The Megasoma punctulatus looks considerably smaller than some of the other elephant beetles. The size isn't an issue, but I can't seem to find any information on them as a species. Would you happen to know anything about their lifespan? I'm hoping that they might become adults more quickly than something too big.

That's an M. Vogti in that article, so maybe yours are growing more quickly! Ill try to do some more research; I'm just trying to stick to something that won't take forever for my first attempt.

Scroll down for M. punctulatus, they're the second one in the article.
