Mecynorhina torquata ugandensis imago emerged, others not pupating

Well, I tried to upload a photo of the male that emerged a few days ago, but I get the message that I am not permitted to upload that kind of file.

I started off with 4 larvae back in November of last year. When I checked the box hoping to find pupal cells, I found the others are still in the larval stage.

I'm thinking I should separate the larvae into smaller containers maybe. Not sure what I'll do.

Such time difference things during development are quite common with any sort of beetles, so it is better to start with bigger groups of larvae, something like 8-10 just to be on a safe side. The larvae synchronize their pupation better when they are together in one container, but there is always an outcast which decides to act as it pleases:)
