May/June Beetle Food

I collected 2 adults and about 10 grubs from my backyard; What do I feed them? Should I just give them a big mix of composted stuff, or could I do a substrate of coconut fiber and give them chunks of dog food?

The adult ten-lined june beetles I kept fed on live pine needles. Do you know the species or have a photo?

I'd imagine that a compost with dried hardwood leaves would be good, but I couldn't say for sure.

Nice to see you Zephyr! I didn't know you were a beetle guy too.

I'm only just getting started. :3

I've always had colonies of warehouse, confused, and red flour beetles, the occasional mealworm colony, and superworms, but now I've got dermestids, some bean beetles, and now carrion beetles.

I think they're Phyllophaga sp; I dig up the grubs all the time in my lawn. I only see the adults at night.

Zephyr,

I know down here in Louisiana I see them eating Oak, Pecan and even rose leaves at night. They would probably eat banana in captivity, too, if you don't have leaves for them.
