Kinshi bottle and mushroom farming

Is it possible to have a mushroom farm while making substrate for stag beetles? i am thinking of designing a way to culture mushrooms and beetle larvae.

You can farm mushrooms and raise beetles in the same container, but be aware that the mushrooms will probably abort or be undersized due to feeding damage on the mycelium below the surface. In addition, fruiting removes a lot of nutrients from the substrate since the mycelium will basically be taking all of the resources taken from breaking down the wood and sending it above the surface to grow mushrooms--this leaves the medium less nutritious for the beetle larva. I can tell you from experience that a full and tightly packed kinshi bottle will have the contents decrease in volume considerably with every fruiting.

There are a lot of factors to consider if you were to perform such type of culturing. The level of available nutrient, temperature, humidity, space, etc. are some of the said factors. Of course, you will also have to make sure you are financially comfortable in order to purchase any of the preparations for such project.
