Very interesting link! I don't understand why the men tap their sticks behind the beetles while they fight. And how do they decide to turn the roller device that the beetles are sitting on?

But the winner was obvious!

Hello Peter, they tap with their stickt to animate the Males to fight.

Inside the Bamboo Roll is a female Xylotrupes gideon.

I think it works with Pheromone, so that the Male X. gideon Beetles are extra animated to fight.

The Movie is from Thailand, every Year they make there Showfighting with Beetles (and similar)...

Thanks for the additional information, Mashku. That's really interesting! I wish Americans had a bit more interest in bug-sports.
