Italian Beetle ID

Hello!

Living in Florence, Italy, and on several occasions while walking to school I have come across some largish black beetles with teal blue leg segments and thin blue lines around its body. Found on an asphalt walkway with maple and sycamore leaf litter.

It looks like a darkling beetle, but the tarsi pads look too large, almost like a leaf beetle's.

Well... I'm leaning towards a leaf beetle of some sort...

I'd say genus Timarcha...

...Maybe species tenebricosa...

...Or, possibly nicaeensis...

Nah, I'll stick with the more common Timarcha tenebricosa:



Yup, that's my guess.
