Instant Rice Cooker Flake Soil?

Already starting to heat up but how hot can the substrate get? What it the maximum degrees for the substrate in the rice cooker to make it proper?

It darkened and seemed to take on a much softer consistency. Unfortunately, it killed three grubs by molding. Not sure if I am to blame or Google Translate, but upon rereading, it seems as though there is a short, but necessary, post-cooking fermentation period. I am trying a new batch with fresh Traeger sawdust and wheat bran, while this past attempt used a failed fermentation’s product. It may have therefore also been an error to try to use this method to re-ferment the failed batch. New batch should finish Tuesday morning. Currently stirring it manually every 8-12 hours to prevent anaerobic pockets.

I also had the same issues. It heated up too much and smelled like burnt wood. I also got green mold a few days later. Maybe I didn't do something right? I'm sticking with the regular method. It was really odd to get a ton of green mold. I have never had that happen before using the regular method.

I got an actual rice cooker. Found a simple (and inexpensive) model at a local Korean market that has just an on-off switch. I am now ready to try again and see if I can figure out how to use this method reliably. If it still does not work for stag beetles, then hopefully it at least works for my millipedes or something else because I need larger quantities of decayed wood in general. 

 
I need to try this! I haven't made flake soil before though.
DON’T USE IT ON ANYTHING YOU CAN’T STAND TO LOSE! I have tried with comparable temperatures to those described and have not gotten anything that is edible to Lucanids or other larvae yet. This method has promise, but it is highly experimental, at least in the US. I am trying again with better tools, but I still expect it to take awhile before we get this method to work reliably.
