How often does mold grow in a terrarium?

Mold only really happens if it’s too moist. You don’t need springtails or isopods. Most beetles are ground dwelling animals that like on the forest floor and are indifferent to mold spores. More arboreal insects like mantids are a bit more sensitive. If you grab a ball of substrate and water seeps out when you squeeze it, it’s too wet
