Hello from KY!

Hi all, nice to meet you! I'm brand new to beetles! I've been wanting to get into beetle rearing for close to a decade, but wasn't able to get around to learning anything about it until now. I don't have any beetles yet, but am thinking of starting with either Dynastes tityus or Lucanus elaphus. I've been reading Orin McMonigle's book on beetle breeding and I'm super excited to get started! Looking forward to learning from everyone here!

Welcome! I recommend starting with Dynastes tityus, super fun species to keep and one of my all time favorites.

Thanks very much! Right on, I will most likely be starting with Dynastes tityus. I might even be able to find a few in the wild here, if I'm lucky!

Thanks for the welcome!
