fruitfly proof terrarium screen

Hi all,

I plan to have my beetles in an aquarium tank and looking for a screen lid on the top to prevent beetles escaping while allow for them to breath. Do any of you know if there is a screen that is fine enough to prevent fruitfly sneaking into the tank?

Probably ordinary window screen, or some mosquito netting, there are even smaller flies that sometimes live in the substrate that can get through

just about anything short of a wall. When I've needed small mesh, and don't have any handy options, I will use a couple layers of window screen offset

just a bit, you'd need some sort of frame to make the lid. Just remember that depending on the beetle species, they may be able to push off a lid that's not

weighted or fastened down.

That sound like a great idea. I would give it a shot. Thanks!
