Fermenting flakesoil questions

I started up another batch and its been 2 days and the only difference is that it smells different...no extra heat, nothing. What went wrong? Should I restart the batch?

I would wait a few days and see what happens. The smell is a good sign. If that smell get stronger in the next week, I think it will be fine.
