Fermented Substrate for rhino and stag beetle

Hi Im going to breed Chalcosoma Chiron rhino beetle in NY. Well, the biggest problem that I faced is about the substrate. I CAN'T BUY OR FIND ANY SUBSTRATE IN USA. Without substrate, I can't even breed and rear beetles at all. Im thinking to make my own substrate with bbq wood pellet, sawdust, or etc but Im not sure what to use tho. Im thinking to buy any fermented soil from home depot but I don't wanna risk it. How can I make my own substrate immediately?

 
That's why you have to prepare sub before you buy them. The best you can do is to go to a deciduous forest and pick up some rotten wood then grind them up. Fermenting takes at least 3 weeks minimum. You can speed up the process by adding some of the "fermented soil" that you mentioned.

I didn't say that I bought them yet. I can not get any rotten wood at all. I need to buy supplies to make sub but how?

 
I don't know where to find sawdusts tho. Im thinking to use leaf mold if I can't find sawdusts. Will it be ok to mix black soil for making substrate?
