One of the c. nemoralis I caught managed to eat at least an extra third of her mass while I was setting up housing containers last night. Put a worm in with a small group of them and they managed to devour it, but I think this girl might've gotten the most.
She weighed .91 grams after she ate. Didn't measure her before, but I've yet to catch one over .55g so I'd be shocked if she was over that.
I have a feeling they've been having trouble finding food in the wild, she was a fresh wild caught and her + about 10 others all went after the worm, despite being stressed and scurrying around just seconds prior.
Is it bad for them to overeat like this? If it is, how can I keep them from doing this in the future?
She is currently buried in her substrate, planning on lightly digging her out in 2+ days if she doesn't surface on her own. I figure after a meal like that, she'll need to rest some of that off.
Any idea if there's a limit to how long I should leave her alone? Like if she does not move from her current spot in X days, check on her?
