Dynastes tityus larva

Hi,

I was reading on Bugs in cyberspace on the care for Dynastes beetles, mainly their larva.

They eat rotting wood (or leafs) from hardwood trees (so oak, palme, and stuff) I can easily get that. It would be wild collected though and I don't know how much or how often I could get it.

So I read on, it also said that some people give the larva dry dog food? Can they live just on dog food? Or is that just kind of like a vitamin to help them grow?

dry dog food is for protein, so you cant feed them dog food constantly
