Dynastes Satanas Care?

I was wondering if Dynastes Satanas was bred like Dynastes Hercules? Any information is appreciated, thanks.

Sorry, can a moderator move this to general discussion?

I'm just going by the wiki article that says "Because of collecting and habitat loss this rare species is protected and included in the list of insects regulated by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES)." Import at your own risk. Just saying it sounds like a bad idea.

A question on importation. If I import larvae, will it be confiscated?

Satanas is listed in CITES. But they are not that rare in Asia's pet market.

If you are willing to move, you can get all the beetles you want

Another reason that satanas is rare is because the mountains that they are found in is actually the territory of drug dealers/ mafias.

That's what i heard, never been to Bolivia myself.

Do customs usually confiscate larvae?

What kind of hefty fine?

Also, does only the Sender need an import permit or does the Reciever (me) need the import permit?
Last one I read about was >$1000

You need a permit to import to the US, and you also need a permit and (from what I understand) a containment facility to keep. The permits to keep foreign plant-eating beetles border on ludicrous to obtain. They are illegal both to import and to keep (in the event that you find one being offered within the US already) without a permit.

I can promise you that almost everyone here has looked at what it would take to have exotic beetles like D Satanas, Dhh, etc., and there are definite reasons we don't ever end up getting them.

Alright, thanks. Do you need permits for Bugs In Cyberspace

No, you do not, and I can recommend BiC with every confidence. Peter is great to work with.

You technically need a permit to ship soil and bugs across certain state lines, but honestly no one doing private sales adheres to that. I'm sure BiC has all of their needed docs in order.
