Dynastes Grantii elytra dark for long period

Hey everyone! My d. grantii emerged in september with a beautiful green coloration (as seen in my other posts). However, starting in about november his elytra turned a dark brown and never went back to the typical green, even though the moisture has stayed pretty consistent. He seems perfectly healthy so it's not something I'm worried about, but I was wondering if anyone knew why this happened? Thanks!

They usually stay that dark color when there is a good amount of moisture. Try taking him out for an hour and see if he turns to the regular coloration.

Too much moisture, lower the moisture in the substrate by spraying it less often. 

This does not mean too much moisture is bad.
