does anyone have any experiences with cybister?!? i had them for almost a year now and they have not layed an single egg... i have 2 pairs. i know that they drill holes on plants for eggs so i bought 10 plants that one fish store recommended to me... so far banana plants has some digging marks by females but no eggs inside... i have a filter and maybe did the larvae got inside the filter??? any tips???

hmmm, did you try taller plants like amazon swords? the stems are alot longer,i keep predatory beetles aswell(my top insect),ive raised them before, and taller plants are far better, and i never used a filter,so it is possible that the filter is sucking up the larvae, hope this helps alittle, don't give up.....sooner or later it will happen, but i would remove the filter.ive also raised the marled diving beetle from arizona, same have planted,no filter and the eggs were laid against the glass! then the tiny larvae were swimming around, ofcourse alot got eaten but i saved a few to raise. gotta say beetles rock!

This title kinda made me think:

Cybisters have problems too... They're just like you!

Except they're beetles!

Back in Korea, I used to rear a pair of Cybister japonicus. I was able to get around 8 eggs from a single pair by using Water hyacinth for egg laying
